I'm actually fuming, FUMING MAD! What an absolute disgrace this weekend has been! The only way to get me happy and excited again about the show this weekend would have been for Christopher to be in the bottom 2 and to be voted out tonight. So anything other than that outcome would be a traversty. Well you saw it so you know what happened! SHOCKING!

What really gets my goat (Yes I did just say that, that's how mad I am) is how each week after the sing off instead of the judges just being honest and saying well I get on better with you backstage so I'll save you, they make up some crap. Which would be fair enough BUT it's just not consistent, one week it's all about the save me performance "I have to go with what I've just seen and heard" "I have to judge you on the performance you've just gave" then the next week it's the total opposite, "I have to go with who has more potential" it just bugs the life out of me!

There is no way on earth that Union J sang even close to how good Jade sang, she absolutely blew my mind, I just wish she had of sang that last night as it was brilliant. And if your judging on potential then Jade just upped her game, Union J totally murdered one of my favourite Pink songs, they started rubbish, the harmonies were off and then they decided to cry half way through. Listen lads your in a competition, there will be ups and downs, but here's a heads up for you.....with the lows you have to step up your game and make everyone wish they had voted for you, tonight I was watching you and I was actually wishing I had of voted more for Jade just in case it went to deadlock!

Lets not even get me started on Christopher, my blood is boiling after just writing his name. What is his crack??? Seriously? I've just watched Xtra Factor and he totally denied arguing with Kye at Rylan's birthday even though people saw him and you could tell by Kye's reaction that it was true, are people actually scared of him or something? And he seems to think Tulisa doesn't like him because hes not urban.....oh yes because Ella and Jahmene are there rapping every week......ARGH just go home already........!

Well I'm pretty dam peeved this weekend, oooooooh I hope it improves next week or I won't be held responsible for my actions!!! Over and out!

Oh my god, what a disappointing episode, (not a word of a lie my auto correct just changed disappointing to 'dies pointly') that's not a coincidence.......

Everyone who reads my blogs knows how much I love the show, but honesty is more important to me and there's no denying that tonight was a let down across the board, 99% of the contestants were below average, they know they can do better and I hope they are disappointed in themselves.

The judges were a bit funny too, Gary was being his usual divvy self but decided to step up his game and actually go into 'arse' territory! Silly SILLY man just lost all my respect. At the end if the day the judges are there to judge, Tulisa made a fair point and asked a fair question, Gary couldn't answer so instead retorted to childish playground comments taking it personal. It was disgraceful, unprofessional and actually it seemed quite out of character. No need.

Given that I feel quite let down I don't even feel like I can go into the whole review as usual, so I'm not. The only person I'm going into detail about is going to be James Arthur. He's the only one tonight that made me stop and pay attention, he wowed me and turned the show around, without James I'm positive I wouldn't even have bothered writing a blog post this week. He's really started to take over everyone else in this competition, I missed Lucy and was really looking forward to what she was going to do but never mind, can't be helped.

Quick recap: Kye brought energy that we don't usually see from him, it was fun but vocally still not there.

Union J, they were ok but I got bored.

Rylan, fun as ever but nothing different.

Ella, I love Ella, she has an amazing voice, but if your going to take THAT song, you need to smash it, the chrous needs to be explosive, and it wasn't. It was the first week I felt let down.

Chris, NO.

District 3, not good at all.

Jahmene, good voice but I went to the toilet half way through, sorry.

Jade, quite flat, nice voice but needed some attitude.

Of all the judges I think Tulisa stuck to the theme best this week, not really sure how 'let me entertain you' relates to Halloween....... I was expecting better makeup and costumes, I think Nicole was the best! Good effort.

Ok well I'm still feeling deflated so I'm going to finish this and get a stiff drink.....or maybe put my pjs on and jump into bed! I really have no clue who will go tomorrow, but I hope to god everyone ups their game next week, I need NEED to see Ella back on form, and everyone actually. I want to write 14 pages raving about how good everyone was, please let me :-)

PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-40356281032300468682012-10-21T21:49:00.001+01:002012-10-21T21:49:28.454+01:00Oh dear, sad times!
Whoa, lots of shocking moments tonight, biggest of them all was Christopher getting through! Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! What on earth is the crack there then, and everyone was angry about Rylan getting through, seriously? At least Rylan seems like a decent bloke, not sure what it is but I get this strange feeling about Chris, I don't warm to him, I feel like he's been tricking us all along. Sorry Chris, you might be a lovely bloke, I just don't feel it at all!

Ok I'm officially gonna jump on the Rylan wagon, well half on anyway. I do like him, he's fun, I look forward to his performance each week because I know I'm gonna smile, but it's a shame on the acts that's go home each week who also entertain me but are more talented and that's what happened tonight. I'm not a huge MK1 fan but I did like how fresh they were and how they brought something different to the show, it's a shame they've gone. However I don't blame Rylan at all, I'm pleased for him too. You can't knock him for effort.

Kye deserved to be in the bottom 2 if I'm honest, I didn't think his performance last night was all that good, he really needs to up his game, and stop repeating his audition songs, that's twice now and considering the effort MK1 put into their save me song, it didn't seem fair that Kye sang a song he had clearly perfected weeks ago. Prove to us your worth getting saved, I want to see you own the stage next week. This might be the kick up the bum he needs.

Good luck for the future MK1, genuinely sad to see you go, felt you were improving each week.

That's all folks, nothing else to say. *yawns* Night!

PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-14524928957064471592012-10-20T23:57:00.001+01:002012-10-20T23:59:12.535+01:00Lets av it!

Everybody's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE to feel good! Woo! Club classics week YEY!

This is always a tough one to judge as most acts are out of their comfort zone, however that's one of the reasons I love it, it gives us a chance to see who is in this seriously and is willing to adapt themselves to whatever is thrown at them. And it's got to be said, a few of the acts really handled it well tonight, especially the ones I was worried about YES! That's what I was hoping for!

Lets start with the Hmmm category.

I'm sad to say it but unfortunately Jade just failed to wow me this week. I really like her normally but this week I was just a bit bored, fair enough she had a sore throat and needed to play it safe, but she could've done a full on dance routine to make up for it haha!

Next, sorry everyone, I saw on twitter everyone going mad for him, saying he was flawless and amazing, I just didn't connect with Jahmene this week, I do like him, it's just something I can't seem to explain. I can't get my head around the ups and downs, warbling and plain weirdness. He has talent, I just don't get it that's all.

Only 3 this week so lastly we've got Union J, to be honest I can't really judge them on their full talent as I got distracted with twitter, yes really! I needed them to make me notice them, totally agreed with Nicole, they needed to grab the key change and rock it, but they didn't. It was just bland, like a cup of tea with no biscuit, it's ok, I'll drink it but I'll probably leave half.

Next up lets go with the YAY's.

First up MK1, personally I thought they were great, it was nice to see them doing something that suited them again, that's where they shine. I know Tulisa likes the raps being personal, but I liked the mash up part. It was cool, yes I said cool, and I meant it. COOL!

Rylan......yes it's true yet again he entertained me. He sounded better and he was fab.

District 3, FINALLY they came on as a boyband of 2012! Up until now they've been cheesy and dated, but tonight they had fun, had a dance, sang well and really grabbed my attention. Well done lads, I no longer cringe YEY!

Lastly we've got the sensation that is Ella, vocally yet again she was on top form, not sure she will ever be bad at any song, but tonight she also loosened up and had fun, it was nice to see, just wish Gary would realise that the contestants don't always have a gun held to their head, maybe Ella wanted to have a boogie, let loose, and personally I think she looked fab.

Lastly we've got the NAY category, and you probably won't be surprised, in fact you don't even really have to read this section, just jump to the next if you want :-D

Infact I think I might rename this category 'The over 28's' jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!

Yea so first up we've got Kye, again. What's happened to Kye? Last week he was actually pretty terrible so this week I was expecting him to come on and own the stages with a completely unexpected song and totally nail it, yet he came on and sang his audition song? What? Why??? But then to make it worse he didn't even sing it that good, it was better than last week but it was far from brilliant. And Gary had the nerve to say Jade played it safe! Pfff!

Last, no surprises, Christopher. I'm totally in agreement with Tulisa, I just don't get it at all, it's past cheese now, actually I've been saying it a few weeks so technically she's agreeing with me, Thanks Tulisa :-) there's no theme week where Chris won't sound cheesy and dated. It's getting boring now.

Oooooooooo so unless your not paying attention you would've noticed I've missed out 2 people, but whyyyyyy I hear you ask? Well I'll tell you. Because I thought they were going to be in trouble this week, yet they both totally smashed it with songs that they made their own, so much so that on both performances it took me at least halfway through to try and work out what the actual song was. Now that's talent, lets all give James and Lucy a special round of applause! *claps like a seal* and it was lovely to see James looking so comfortable on stage, I think his guitar made a huge difference, the last 2 weeks he has looked lost, but tonight he was found. Bravo to both of you, more of that next week please!

Now then, how do we think the voting is going to go......I don't like doing a prediction when there's a controversial act like Rylan in the competition. I can't make a fair decision on who I want to go home, because I like Rylan and don't want him to go so I'll be met with an angry mob if I pick anyone else. Lets just wait and see eh..... Have a lovely Sunday!

PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-17605777866737391022012-10-14T21:43:00.001+01:002012-10-14T21:43:15.221+01:00No more Drama...
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Rylan was voted through! Bless him! I'm pleased he got the public vote this week, that means I can relax going forward, if he doesn't go far then at least he got voted through once. Yey!

No major dramatics this week, things seemed to go quite smoothly, which is a shame haha.

Ok if I'm honest no surprises in the bottom two, District 3 were a bit boring last night and their song was too old fashioned for them, Melanie well, we all know how I feel about Melanie the shouty queen. Before the sing off I was thinking, District 3 to go through and Melanie to go home, after the sing off I was thinking.....OW MY HEAD!! Send them both home! Blooming heck, they both kind of killed it, and not in the cool hip meaning of the word, just good old fashioned killed it. I'm not a Melanie fan but she done better last night than in the sing off, and District 3 were far too old fashioned again and sang really off. To be fair to them both, it's hard in the bottom 2 as they've just been told they might be going home, I'll let them off I suppose.

I had a feeling it would go to deadlock but I expected Tulisa and Nicole to vote opposite than what they did, and as soon as Dermot said Deadlock I knew Melanie would go, I don't mean to sound harsh here but I can't think of who would vote for her, I know the teeny bopper girls would vote District 3, but I'm just not sure who Melanie is aimed at, and it's all about support, without support you won't get anywhere in this competition. Harsh but true.

On Xtra Factor Gary said voting comes down to vocals on the night, but I have to disagree, if that was the case then the bottom 2 would be Rylan and Kye. They were the worst vocally, but Rylan was very entertaining and Kye has quite a big fan base already. The only time vocals is the main voting reason is when there's a turning point, an act you don't normally back comes on and delivers an amazing performance that really wows you, that's when you pick up the phone. Joe and Alexandra are 2 examples of this. Just thought I'd put you straight Gazza B lol.

Club classics next week, well that's gonna be interesting, there's at least 4 people I can think of that will normally avoid club songs so I'm already looking forward to it. See you then.......

PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-36544315472474727742012-10-14T00:11:00.001+01:002012-10-14T00:11:05.035+01:00Expecting Snow in London??
Love is in the air, wish it was talent though......oooooo OUCH! I'm starting off bitchy, luckily I'm just messing, we had lots of talent tonight, well moments of talent anyway...... :-P

Firstly I've gotta just say how much I'm enjoying Nicole this year, she's really funny and has some hilarious one liners, the panel works great together, and generally if there's a disagreement it seems to be against Gary BORElow haha. Why can't he agree when something isn't right with one of his acts? Louis admitted when he got the song wrong last week, come on Gary just join the nation and admit Chris is cheeseball Cabaret!

Anyway less of the judges, lets get on to the contestants, its even stevens across the categories tonight, 4 each so lets stop time wasting eh.....

Lets get the worst out the way.... NAY!!

First up Jahmene, he's sweet and innocent and at times totally nails it but tonight I was just bored, the only time I perked up was when he kicked into Ain't no mountain high enough, he nailed that bit but the rest had me nodding off. Sorry Jahmene.

Yet again my last 3 belong to Mr Barlows category, he's really not winning it this year....well not for me anyway....

Chris the cabaret king - I said it last week and I'm saying it again, it's just far too cringe cheese cabaret for me. Song choice was yet again too obvious, Gary doesn't seem to be pushing him to stand out and be different like he is with the others. However saying that I'm not sure there's anything else Chris can do really. Also I will mention YET again, where's the nerves......hmmm I feel CONNED!

Kye, now I like him, I just never seem to get his performances, I feel like I really want to love him but for some reason I can't, he fails to wow or shock me. Even this week doing a Rhianna/Dido mash up failed to shock me, maybe if he burst into the Eminem rap part of love the way you lie, I might've raised an eyebrow, but even then I felt his vocals at the start were totally off, I thought my ears had stopped working.....whoa!

Melanie - I just don't get it. AT ALL. Too loud, too shouty, too everything.

Middle folk, I can't fully make my mind up, Hmmm.....

Lets start with Jade. What a beautiful performance, on the ears and the eyes, she looked stunning and sounded lovely too....... So why put her in the Hmmm category I hear you ask, well that's because the song totally bored my socks off, I totally forgot she was on for a second, and that's not what you need. Come on Tulisa, pick a better song so I don't forget about her :-)

Now this is interesting because as with the Nay section, my next 3 acts are all from the same category, The Groups.

MK1 - I was pleasantly surprised with the shock factor, them coming out singing a Jackson 5 song and it actually working, BUT I completely agreed with Nicole, it wasn't them. Fair enough they took a risk and stepped out of their comfort zone, but it didn't have their full stamp on it, it was borderline cheesy pop and that's not what they are about.

District 3 - now don't get me wrong, these boys have brilliant voices, all of them, and they work well together, I just can't take them seriously. It's far too old school cheese boyband, there's far too much jaw juddering and swooning, and the one in the middle, (Micky I think) just looks far too much like a mix between Mark Owen and the Brother from Same Difference. Weird.

Union J - ok first up, the British Gas price rise doesn't happen until next month, so please can someone put the heating on in the studios, those boys really wrapped up tonight. They sang bleeding love, and it was ok, just ok.

Ok lastly the best, SAVING ALL MY LOVE FOR YOUUUUUUUUUUU..... the YAY's......

No prizes for guessing who I have in this section, either from process of elimination or you've noticed a trend appearing haha.......

Lucy Spraggan - she's fab, she's original, she's quirky, you never know what she's gonna sing and that's what I love about her. I mean come one, she sang Gold Digger....... How unpredictable was that? Stephen Mulherne said on Xtra Factor that he wishes she had of been on BGT as she probably would've won it, and I kind of agree, with BGT you show your talent and people love you for it, with XF your expected to be versatile and show what you can do in various situations, Lucy has her niche but she's certainly not afraid of the challenges thrown at her. To be fair if she done something different she'd probably be criticised for changing, like MK1. So I've just completely contradicted myself haven't I, pretty pointless conversation really, oh well, that's what I'm best at.

James - now I'm not 100% keen on watching him perform, he sometimes freaks me out with all his jerky movements and clothes pulling, sometimes it's like he's having a fight with his collar, however when that same emotion is portrayed vocally then he amazes me. Tonight that's exactly what happened, I loved the rawness of his performance, he truly felt the song meaning and tried to make us feel it. Great.

Rylan - ok stop the hating now, get over the Carolynne thing, and tell me you weren't laughing and totally getting into his performance tonight, I know I bloody was, it was great. Good for him I say, he had the works, dancing pandas, balloons, a catwalk and to top it off.... GANGNAM STYLE! Heeeeeeeeeeeey, sexy lady! It was fab, it was entertaining and I loved it. I also love the Gary banter, very funny.

Ella - I doubt there'll be a week when she isn't in the best category, she just continues to raise the bar vocally. I wasn't keen on the song, especially when it first started and I knew THAT note was coming, I got a bit nervous, but she took the challenge and nailed it. Brilliant job for a very difficult song. Bravo Ella, bravo.

Done.

Soooooo what drama will we see tomorrow night do you reckon? Oh and can I just point out to all the people STILL mad about last weeks results shocker, lets rewind a few years to Jedward, I do believe Simon sent home the better act purely out of curiosity to see what the audience wanted, and Jedward stayed. Like I said last week, it wasn't the first time and it won't be the last. Fun times :-D

A final reminder to Fountain Studios.....crank that heating up!! Coats, scarves, wooly hats and everything tonight - sort it out!

Smell ya later x

PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-30629082754507580442012-10-07T21:48:00.002+01:002012-10-07T21:48:54.460+01:00Oh to the EM GEEEEEE!!!Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, OH......MY....GOOOOOOOOOOOOD GOD!! First off I have to say how excited I was about the results tonight, and very nervous, as soon as that dreaded light dim and dramatic music started my belly went over, I really don't know why I get so attached - even this early on, my palms were sweaty and my heart was racing......I love it :-D

I was soooooooooo happy when I heard Ella and Lucy were through, but I have to admit I was secretly hoping they were saving Rylan for the last 3, for the shock factor. I honestly thought it was gonna be Melanie and Chris, I have no idea why people would vote for either of them over Carolynne, she has an awesome voice. Anyway, when it was down to Rylan, Chris and Carolynne, I was wanting one of 2 things to happen, either for Rylan to get through purely just for the look on Gary's face, or for Carolynne to get through because she deserves it more than Christopher and I think the judges would have saved Rylan anyway.

I wasn't happy with it being Rylan and Carolynne though, not at all. The sing off was very tense, Rylan was entertaining and sounded alright, Carolynne was beautiful as expected, no surprise in the actual sing off.......but then it came the turn of the judges, which should be a pretty easy job really, Carolynne or Rlyan.......Carolynne or Rylan.....seriously LOUIS I NEED AN ANSWER!!!......Carolynne or Rylan!! Jiminy Cricket, what happened with Louis tonight.

Gary and Nicole picked the obvious, and Tulisa went for the singing and picked Carolynne, now then, this is where I got confused, I actually still don't really know what happened, firstly Dermot got quite angry at Louis for just stuttering and blubbering about it being such a hard decision, yes Louis, it's a hard decision you have to make every week, you had about 10 minutes to think about it before Dermot asked you, JEES! Then he still managed to mess it up, seriously Louis you've done this for 9years, you'd think you would know the procedure by now. You need to name the act your sending home, so when asked, you don't answer with 'Carolynne, I want to save Carolynne' then when asked again who you want to send home 'Carolynne, I want to send it to deadlock' EHHHHHHH......sooooo confused and stressed out!

Anyway, from that moment I knew it would be Carolynne going home, I don't think she connected with the audience that well. Not sure why but its clear something wasn't right or she would've got more votes. I feel sorry for Rylan though as he's going to get even more hate now, and it's not really fair. Well done on getting through Rylan, and commiserations to Carolynne, you have a lovely voice and I thought you would get further, however considering some of the competition I honestly didn't think she could win it, didn't think she'd go this early though!!

Right now I'm avoiding twitter so the mobs can calm down with the 'FIX' accusations. They'll get bored eventually. At the end of the day, even if they did want the judges to save Rylan, it went to deadlock therefore it's all down to your votes....... So guess who's really to blame.......

And on that friendly note I'll say night night! See you next week!!

Well then, Christmas is officially almost here, I always use the X Factor Live shows as my official countdown to Christmas, and they are BACK with a BANG!! Everyone knows how much I love this show, but you all know how much I also love being honest.....that's just a heads up and a bit of a pre-warning of how this post is going to go......OH DEAR!

Firstly let me just say how happy I am to have the unpredictability factor back, and by that I mean - anything can happen. I'm always on the edge of my seat thinking that someone is going to mess up, arguments are going to start, or a camera is going to fall over. Simple things in life eh :-) but yea I love the live shows, but most of all I LOVE the return of Dermot Dancing! My Saturdays are complete!

To make it easier to read and actually easier to write, I'm bringing back the YAY, NAY and Hmmm categories. The talent this year is quite high, so you may not like some of the choices I have made. Hopefully you all agree, but I very much doubt it........so without further ado, lets begin.

Starting in the middle, we'll discuss the 'Hmmm' acts. First up, in my review and on the show, we've got District 3. Vocally these boys were really good, we know they can sing from previous auditions, however I was quite surprised at their song tonight. I really enjoyed the first half, I thought it was different however I got bored in the second half. It was seriously lacking the big note or just a turning point. They were the best of the groups vocally though.
Which brings me nicely onto another of the groups, MK1. Again, I like them, I've said it before, although I'm not keen on the cockiness - they are different and bring something new to the show. However tonight the song let them down, it was far to fast paced for Charlie to keep up, she was out of breath and it really affected her vocals, I've heard her sing better.....and hope to next week.
Brace yourselves ok, the last couple are probably going to shock you a little bit, mainly because I actually do really like them, but I've gotta be honest.....Kye and Jahmene. Sowweeeeee.
Kye - his voice is an odd one, he started off quite bad, it was very pitchy but then he sorted himself out and it got better. However, saying that, I don't think he should have ever tried to take on a Michael Jackson song, unless the plan was to change it so it was totally unique to him. Which it wasn't.....
Jahmene - too much warble for my liking, I really REALLY enjoyed the first minute or so, I actually wrote down 'everything I disliked about him has gone' but as soon as I lifted the pen off the paper he started the warbling and weirdness! Not a fan, I think he is extremely talented and doesn't need to go all over the place to hit a note! And just for the record, there's no doubting how scared and nervous he was.

Next up.....DUM dum DuuuUUuuMmmm, the 'Nays' I'll try not to be too harsh......try.
Melanie is first up, eugh, sorry like but I just don't get the appeal. I must admit she wowed me at her first audition, but since then all I hear is shouting. Either that or my ears are broke, nothing against her just wouldn't buy her album through fear of deaf by shouting.
Another Over 28, tonight's wildcard winner, Christopher. As with Melanie, he wowed me at his first audition, but after that I kinda saw him as more of a cabaret singer, very cheesy but a big powerful voice. Tonight he played it so safe and cheesy, it was cringe-worthy. Oh also, where did the nerves go, for such a nervous wreck of a man, I was quite surprised to see how well he handled the performing part....very interesting indeed.
Lastly in the Nay category this week, I'm surprised to be saying this, but Union J were utter rubbish. The only silver lining is that Louis knew it and wasn't trying to hide the fact it was a crap song, they were all over the place and it was pretty much his fault. Although saying that, the boys need to learn to stand up and voice their concerns, surely they knew it wasn't working from the beginning. Man up lads, don't be afraid to disagree with Louis, the nation aren't :-P

That only leaves us with the 'Yays' of the night. And we have a few.....
Lets kick off with the fabulous James Arthur, now lets just be honest for a second - his rapping in his first audition wasn't the best so needless to say I was nervous about the thought of the rap returning. Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised, I enjoyed his version of 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' he made it completely his own, and I'm sorry like Gary but if I had to guess beforehand I would never have said James would've picked a Kelly Clarkson song, not predictable in the slightest.
Another unpredictable song choice was Carolynne's, at first when I realised what she was singing I was like 'oh dear' but it actually worked, she messed up a little at the very start but sharp got back on track, Carolynne has a beautiful voice and tonight she proved that although she is a country singer, she can be very versatile and doesn't have to just sing Dolly, Shania and Taylor Swift songs. Very happy!
Ok prepare yourself for this one, I fear a lot of people will disagree with me here.....how good was Rylan!!! (That's a rhetorical question, so please don't bombard my comments with hate haha) personally I really enjoyed it, from the gold, to the dancing, and even the vocals weren't actually bad. He is a fun act, every year we have a fun act, and most times they can't actually sing, but Rylan can, he might not be the best vocally in the competition but he can actually sing. He got me smiling and seat shuffling, and that's what having The X Factor is about. Gary came across as a bit of a hypicrit when he was complaining that Nicole had put Rylan through over her other acts......lets just rewind 12 months when Frankie was on the show??? Yea....
My last 3 actually come from the same category, go #TeamGirls!
Jade first, a lot of people are saying she's getting lost in the hype of Lucy and Ella, people are forgetting about her, well she did her best to put an end to that last night. And she did a beautiful job as well, still think she should sing a Gabrielle song and wear an eye patch.....ok maybe not the patch but you get my drift!
Next up one of my faves from this year Lucy Spraggan. I've voiced my concerns about her in the live shows, but to be fair, most of the contestants have their own niche, and that's just what Lucy has, her guitar and quirkiness is just her style. Carolynne is country, Rylan is fun, James is raspy/rap and MK1 are urban. The fact she came on singing her own song, that the audience can't connect to, was a risk worth taking in my view. She is such a talented writer and performer, she doesn't have the big powerful voice, but she works the song around her ability and it works well. I would buy that song.
Speaking of big powerful voices.....Ella. WOW. SHE.BLEW.MY.MIND. I do not get sick of saying this, but wow at 16 her voice is pretty much flawless. I got goosebumps everywhere, including my knees!!! WHAT!!!
One thing I had to disagree with was Louis' comment about her being the best on the show since Leona, completely disagree, in my opinion she is better than Leona. Her voice has personality, I just loved it, love love LOVED it!!

So that's it now, all 13 have performed, and one will be going home, my hopes are on Melanie or Christopher, simply because I don't think they are suited to the show and I definitely don't think they can win it, but time will tell.

The judges were on top form tonight, what with Tulisa announcing the reunion of N-Dubz, Nicole sitting in the top seat and coming out with some cracking one liners 'sometimes you need a burger with that cheese' Louis well, Louis was just his usual self, although I was shocked when he admitted he was wrong with the Union J song choice. And Gary.....he was being a little bit silly last night, given his experience with last year and Frankie, he went a bit OTT with Rylan, then when he started on James and his apparent predictable song choice yet Melanie sang The Beatles, A little Help from my friends.......hmmmm.

Lastly, I'm not quite sure what the whole One Direction part was about. It was all very random and unnecessary if I'm honest, especially in the middle of the performances, fair enough if they came on at the start, or at the end. I just can't fathom why they were there, they didn't even win their series, yes they are successful and it's thanks to the show, but it was just a bit odd.
I'm looking forward to the results, fingers crossed we don't lose anyone fab, get voting!!!!PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-74802003629686815212012-09-30T22:32:00.000+01:002012-09-30T22:32:44.972+01:00Judges house - Yippeeeeeee!!Who loves Judges Houses? I love Judge Houses! Is it true? Mmmmhmmmm, I do I do I doooOOOoooo!! (Anyone remember that??..... Just me....oh ok)

Well for the record I do love Judges Houses week, it's great seeing how each judge handles their situation, they don't have the other judges to agree/argue with, this moment will mould their next 8 or so weeks, so they have to get it right.....but will they??? Lets find out eh....

Ok so lets start with Louis and The Groups in Las Vegas. Last week I predicted that Louis would put through MITSOTU, MK1 and Union J. However after seeing their performances last night, I changed my mind. I think Louis got it bang on in picking MK1, GMD3 and Union J. They really were the strongest acts in this category, yea I know the other acts were talented as well but they just weren't as good together, or they were just plain strange, yes DUKE I'm talking to you. That really was bizarre.
The only problem I've got is that GMD3 and Union J are very similar, however I will openly admit I prefer Union J, the only reason is because Micky from GMD3 is very cheesy, he reminds me of the brother from Same Difference. There's nothing wrong with that but it's just not what I want in a Boy Band. Plus Union J - albeit are very young - seem a lot more mature as people and as a band. And MK1 are just MK1 really, nothing else to say HA! They are very NDubz like, and I like them.
Then we've got Times Red the wildcard of The Groups. I liked these but I agreed with Louis, I'm not sure the audience will vote for them, you need the vote of the young girls and that will go to Union J or GMD3, but we'll see what happens.

Next up we'll discuss Gary and The Over 28's. Eugh. I'm so disappointed. I thought this category was a no brainer, it was so obvious the best acts were Kye, Carolynne and Christopher. Yet Gary decided I know nothing and put Melanie through instead......errrrrrrr Excuse me Mr Barlow, have you seen my credentials..... I think you'll find I don't know a thing about anything musical! Yea! Deal with it!
Ok so despite my disappointment, I did guess 2 out of 3 and for that I'm pretty chuffed, Carolynne is just fabulous, I love her voice, and Kye is eye candy for the girls - plus he has a nice voice too of course! I'm just not keen on Melanie, she's far too shouty for me, and I'm not sure she'll get the public vote. I might be wrong, but I wont admit it so don't remember this post if it does turn out I'm wrong.
Good job he picked Christopher for the Wild Card though, or there really would've been trouble! Close shave there Mr Barlow. VERY Close! Phew!

Oooooo where next, Boys or Girls......erm, lets go BOYS! With Nicole. Ok I was waaaaaaaaaaaay off here. Wow Nicole you fairly knocked me for six, I never saw this coming, but even worse still, I never thought I would be ok with the result HA! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about.........WHY?? Nicole put through James Arthur, Jahmene and Rylan. Yip you heard right, Rylan. And yes you heard right, I was happy with the result.
Ok let me explain, James Arthur is great, he's never messed up, he's always been top of his game, FAB. Jahmene, hmmm I'm not that keen on his voice at times, he's good at the top notes, but some how loses me during the rest, however saying that - I do like him, I think with the right coaching he can be brilliant, he just needs a bit of direction. And then we've got Rylan, after last weekend I was rather angry that he got put through, I was annoyed Joseph went home and unfairly took that out on Rylan, so this week I left an open mind, and I'm pleased I did. He's not that bad, he done himself proud, and he's so likeable. So over the top, but in the best way possible. He will be the fun act this year, but with the ability to sing :-)
Adam is Nicole's wildcard, which makes sense, he was good, I predicted he would go to live shows, however I preferred Jake, even though he messed his songs up (to be fair he had other things on his mind, and I think he needs to just be with his family) Chin up Jake.

Lastly lets hear it for Tulisa and The Girls. *screams* This category is my favourite this year, there's just so many different styles, and I'm enjoying them all. Although I got the prediction wrong AGAIN (wow I'm crap really aren't I) I was close with 2/3, I kinda felt Leanne didn't really shine so it was the right decision not to put her through. So we've got Ella (YEY), Lucy (YEY) and Jade Ellis (Yea she's growing on me).
I said last week that I felt Jade was lacking something, last night I realised she wasn't it was just her style, and like I say I'm starting to like it. Not that I didn't in the first place, I just originally thought she wasn't the strongest in the category.
We all know how I feel about Lucy and Ella :-D YEY!!! So pleased for them both, although they are very VERY different in what they do, they are soooo similar in how talented they are at song writing and performing. Ella has the power and soul, Lucy has the quirkyness and originality, we've definitely not seen anything like her on this show before, and it's so refreshing. Go Girls!!
I'm pleased Tulisa picked Amy as her wildcard, she seemed to want it soooo much, and she was just that little bit better than the other 2 last night.

So that's our final 12, soon to be 13. MK1, GMD3 and Union J. Carolynne, Kye and Melanie. Rylan, Jahmene and James. Ella, Lucy and Jade. With 1 out of Times Red, Christopher, Adam or Amy. I smell some very interesting and entertaining weekends ahead of us, and I'm very excited for it!!!!
I loved the little mash up song they all did at the end, and the Gangnam Style YouTube video was hilarious, they really do look like a good line up this year, very fun!

Quote of the night has to go to Nicole after telling Jahmene he's through: "grow some balls while your there" HAHAHAHA! Classic! Good job he's a good sport :-)

That's enough for one night, I'll see you back here after our first live show of the series EEEEEEK!!!!
Bye for now xxPerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-12802526843015792592012-09-23T22:59:00.001+01:002012-09-24T09:33:22.984+01:00Booooooooot CAMP!Booooooooty booty boot camp, YES!! We've had a very full weekend, full of tears, full of disappointment but mainly full of OH MY GOD moments! And not necessarily in a good way every time!
As you can probably guess, I didn't bother reviewing last nights episode, too much went on, what with 1/3 going home straight away, then the battle rounds (which I like to watch but don't like judging people on) so I thought it would be best to get the judges houses acts confirmed and review them by the categories, lets not hang about then!

Lets start with the Over 28's, Mr. Barlows category. Before I say anything else, I just need to declare my frustration at the fact Hayley didn't get through, she was amazing, much better than at least 3 of the acts that actually got through! WHATEVER!!!
Ok so anyway, the acts through are Kye, Melanie, Nicola, Brad, Carolynne and Christopher. Generally the talent level in this category is quite high, usually the overs are quite disappointing but if Gary picks right, he could have a bloody strong team with him in the live shows. My top 3 (so technically my predictions) are Carolynne, Kye and Christopher. For me, these 3 are the only option, anything else would be just wrong.
I love Carolynne's style, her country sound is very original, she's just awesome. Kye has a great voice and will get the vote of the ladies, he's the perfect image and sound of a pop star. Christopher is different, he's shy, yet so powerful, he deserves his place in the finals.
As for the others, Brad I just think he's a bit old school karaoke, Melanie is far too shouty for me, and Nicola....well Nicola I like, she has a good voice, I just prefer the other 3. I'm still just gutted Hayley didn't get through :-( sad times!

Ok let's move on to a category I wasn't left disappointed by someone not being picked....The Boys, with Nicole. Hmmmmm hang on a second, I'm sure Joseph the rocker was pretty awesome! Doh!
The acts that got through were James Arthur, Jahmene, Nathan, Adam, Jake and Rylan......*checks list again* *rubs eyes to double check* yes they definitely picked Rylan......over Jospeh. Well lets be practical and look on the bright side eh, they could've picked Eddie!!!! Lucky stars are counted! Again this category is actually quite good, the talent level this year is high, however I'm not sure the winner belongs to this category I'd need to see a bit more from the boys, but I think with a little bit of work, and the right songs we could have some competition for the girls!
My prediction for live shows would have to be, and I'm being sensible here, James Arthur, Jake and hmmmm 3rd is a toughy....I'm gonna say Jahmene. Actually no, I'm gonna pick Adam, he's different. Jahmene messed his battle round up, and personally I hated what he did to his last boot camp song, it was just him wailing like a banshee! Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, sometimes less is more!
I like James, he's got good soul to his voice and he allows himself to get lost in it, and Jake has a lovely voice too. Adam is different, I'd like to see more so I'm looking forward to next week.

Next we'll discuss the groups and Louis. This year we saw a rise in group auditions, probably due to the fact a group won last year, however a lot of them weren't really that good, so surely the judges can't get it wrong this time.....SURELY.....ok so where did Times Red go? And HOW did they pick GMD3 over Triple J?? Actually rewind that a second, how did they pick Poisonous Twins over either of those acts??? Luckily I agree with the rest though :-D MITSOTU, Duke, MK1, Poisonous Twins, Rough Copy and GMD3. Although I'm almost positive I saw Triple J on the preview clip for next weeks show, and I also read that Rough Copy couldn't make it to judges houses so that may change things, or it may be completely wrong and I might just be seeing things :-)
If I was picking the finalists I would pick MITSOTU, MK1 and Rough Copy or Triple J I like them both the same so doesn't really matter which make it to judges houses. However it's Louis picking, so it will probably be GMD3, poisonous Twins and MITSOTU (or is that giving Louis too much credit) haha no I'll stick with that!
Even though I picked MK1 in my top 3, I have to disagree with their boot camp battle performance, I thought Charlie was quite disrespectful getting up in amongst the other group, MK1 are talented, they don't need to play dirty, I lost a lot of respect for her when she done that. The other group weren't as good but you could see they were totally put off. Didn't agree with it. No need.
Anyway, I liked MITSOTU and Triple J, really enjoyed them.

Last, but certainly not least, the reigning Champion Tulisa, with the fabulous Girls! And finally I wasn't disappointed! I do think its a shame Melanie didn't get through as she was good, but I can agree with all the acts that did get through, even if personally I'm not that keen.
Ok so in the Girls corner we've got, Ella, Amy, Jade, Lucy, Leanne and Jade Ellis. YEY! And I think we have a winner here! That's if Tulisa puts them through :-)
My prediction for finals are Leanne, Ella and Lucy! Lucy was one of my faves from the beginning, she's very original, and her Tea and Toast performance was great! She'd be interesting to watch, although to be honest she's got her own thing so she would probably do fab on her own anyway. Not sure what she'd do big band week like but hey, who cares haha she would make us smile I'm sure :-)
I'm not keen on Amy, I don't know why, seriously I have no idea, just not keen at all. And Jade Ellis is just a little bit lacking for me, I do like her style, just not as much as the others.
Leanne is a dark horse, she sort of snuck in from the shadows with this huge voice and has really shone this weekend, I LIKE her! So has Jade really, I couldn't really remember her if I'm honest, but now I do :-)
And then there's Ella, well, oh my god! If she doesn't get through then I'm no longer writing this blog, and I mean it!!!!!! (ok maybe that's a bit hasty but I'll be very VERY upset) Not only does she deserve to get through, she deserves to win. A voice like that at 16, jeeeeeeeees! I hate Believe by Cher, yet I would buy that single tomorrow by Ella, so much passion and depth to her voice. LOVED IT!!!!

So there we have it guys and gals, our final 24 acts, and my predictions. Guess we'll have to wait and see what goes down at judges houses.
With any luck ill be back blogging next weekend ;-) see you then! PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-45606454206041962952012-09-16T22:06:00.001+01:002012-09-16T23:00:58.194+01:00The boys are back in town!Awwwwwwwwwwwww the auditions are over...... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Boot camp next week!!! And more to the point - we've officially seen our winner! What makes that even more special is that I really REALLY can't say who I think it might be, this year they've really raised the bar, the talent level is so high, in all categories - which is unusual as the groups and overs are usually the weakest however I think they are going to be extremely strong this year!

Tonight was a lot about the boys, the first half of the show was quite fast paced with plenty of action, lots of acts coming and going. A few of the better acts were.......

Adam who sang Titanium acoustically with his guitar, I really liked him, it was very Nickleback sounding, or Creed. And I like those bands, so that's a good thing, be told!
Triple J, 3 young good looking lads, all with canny good voices, they seemed to work well with each other and sounded really good together, good effort lads. I wasn't as keen on Rough Copy though, they were a bit too in my face, individually they all seemed to have good voices, but together I felt it seemed a bit all over the place, maybe it was nerves.......but I doubt it lol.
Cheeky chap Dale was good as well, think he lingered around Tulisa a little bit too long as it was a little awkward to watch but he was good overall.

After the fast paced first half, we then had a more casual 2nd half, and first up to the plate was homeless Robbie. Now then, if you read my blog last night you will know how I feel a bout sob stories......however this is different, I did actually sob! The difference here is, it's not a story, it's his life. I just can't believe someone with that kind of talent hasn't been found before now, and has been living on the streets for the past 6 years! WHAT!!! Actually to be fair, I didn't cry because of his intro, it was actually when he started to sing, he really got me, his voice told a story and it made me listen. Loved him, and I hope he is found safe and well, if he hasn't been already!

Last tonight we saw the return of Carolynne Poole, who last year got to Judges houses with Louis, but was sent home as Goldie and Kitty were clearly better than her..........yea it really is as ridiculous as it sounds!!! Well anyway she came back with fire in her belly (minus the sob story of course) and personally I thought she was fabulous, a really good old Country singer, nice and original. I loved her last year, but my only concern this year is that the 'Overs' category is extremely tough, there's a lot of competition. I feel like last year should've been her year but she was robbed, however I have my fingers crossed for her as she seems lovely and has a cracking set of lungs (yes lungs ;-P) on her.

So that's it, that's all of our contestants ready and waiting for boot camp.....cue recap of all live auditions and then montage of next week...... *shocked face* OMG it looks fab! I forgot how many good people we had from the first couple of weeks, wow. And the drama of it all at boot camp looks SO exciting, there's tears, temper and talent all rolled into one. Eeeeeeeee I'm gonna burst!!!!

If I don't see you through the week, you don't live near me. Bye for now!PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-56543824795206410782012-09-15T23:30:00.004+01:002012-09-16T23:01:27.457+01:00Awww last weekend of Auditions! Pt1I'm a mixed bag of emotions this weekend, I'm gutted the series is going too fast and we are at the final weekend of the audition process, however I'm excited for boot camp next weekend Yey!

As well as my emotions, the contestants were a mixed bag again tonight. And if I'm perfectly honest there were only about 2 people I thought were fabulous! I think I might be a bit grumpy tonight *grumpy face*

Ok so let's do this..... Nick singing Buddy Holly, ahhhhhhh he was rubbish, and not very good at taking criticism, which makes me wonder why he even auditioned, even the best of singers get criticised for something, that's the industry. Come on Nick. Pffft!

Next up Madelaine Wilson, the girl who went to school with Tulisa.....hmmm....she can hold a note, but it was all very shouty for me. Wasn't overly keen in comparison to others in the Girls category, she can sing though. Same goes for Salena, I was left feeling a little unsure, didn't quite know what to make of it, powerful performance, but at times screechy.

Let's avoid the Bianca Gascoigne review, think she had enough for one night :-) Let's just go straight on to another good yet disappointing act, Lauren Smith. Now then, don't get me wrong here, I love nothing more than when artists come on with their own instruments (although I'm still waiting for a drummer :-P) and play their own version of a song, it makes it unique and shows their ability as an artist, not just a singer, and that is still the case with Lauren, however I just wasnt keen, I thought she had quite a good voice, but I didn't enjoy the song. there's always boot camp though....

And lastly on the 'arghhhhhhhhh' list is Jade Collins. And by 'arghhhhhhhh' I mean, I'm frustrated at how good she is yet how much she didn't stand out for me. (that's a bit of a contradiction isn't it, oh well) as with about 90% of the population, I lost interest as soon as the camera started to film her crying about her Dad, I do appreciate it's gotta be hard for her, but I just want to see her perform, I don't want to feel sorry for anyone. Everyone has a back story, I personally don't want to hear about it until maybe judges houses or live finals. Then I'll listen.

I'm really grumpy tonight, everything I'm writing is bad haha! I'm sorry guys and girls, it's just how I felt at the time, however I'm about to turn a corner, I can see light at the end of this dark tunnel.....

We all love a crazy Grandma don't we? Well Tammy had one haha, and she was CRAAAAZZYY!! But that's not who sang so lets forget about that shall we :-) Tammy, now she showed how to stand out in an audition, wow, she picked the perfect song to showcase her voice, while also getting the audience involved. She's going to be a strong contender in the Overs!

Now then, I've saved my favourite 2 from tonight til last. Firstly let's discuss Leanne, personally I thought she had a beautiful voice, nice and soft on the ears.....wow that sounded cheesy! But seriously, despite my grumpy mood, she seemed to thaw my icy heart tonight, really enjoyed it! And she seemed lovely as well which helps.
Lastly we've got Jade Ellis, well then this lady may as well have an album out today, wow, her voice is pretty much perfected, she has a recording voice, and one that I would listen to over and over again and still not get bored. Loved. IT.

Quote of the night has to go to Nick for his "that f@&king Tulisia spoilt it" hahaha......silly tinker.

BUT WAIT....there's more. While writing this I've just been wowed, and my mood has flipped, turned upside down, so I'd like to take a minute just sit right there (I'll tell you how I become the prince of a town called Bel-air) OK then.

Please tell me you all turned over to Xtra Factor tonight, if not then you missed a treat! A lovely young lady called Hayley Evetts - who previously came 5th in Pop Idol, made a return to our screen, and she bloody well OWNED IT! Jimini Cricket! And I don't use those words lightly let me tell you! She was fantastic, really gave me goosebumps, I hope they show her on the main show tomorrow night as it would be a shame for anyone not to see her talent.

She was THAT good, I'm no longer grumpy...... Everyone tonight was brilliant!!!!! :-P

Same time same place tomorrow? Alright then........

**one last little note, just want to say get well soon to a regular reader of this blog, Sonia, I wish you a speedy recovery**PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-22235157823093481522012-09-09T21:55:00.003+01:002012-09-16T23:01:27.451+01:00Part 2.....didn't disappoint!I'm starting tonights blog with a warning message. For some reason, unbeknown to me, most of the acts tonight that everyone went crazy for......I wasn't keen on. So just a little heads up, some of you may not agree with what I have to say.....oh dear.

Got work in the morning so let's keep this short and to the point.......hmmm we'll see.

Ok so here's the first of the 'crowd seemed to like, but I didn't' contestants. Eddie String, also know as Russell Cocozza, because he had the voice and attitude of last years Frankie, but the personality of Russell Brand. If you read this blog last year you'll know my views on Frankie, so I'm not going to dwell on it too much. Basically, didn't like him as a singer, same as Eddie. He has the stage presence but lacks the rest in my opinion. Swiftly moving on....

16 year old Amy, well she was a different league all together really wasn't she. If she is that good at 16, untrained, what on earth will she be capable of with a bit of direction and experience. Crikey. I've used this word a lot this series, but she has a lot of soul to her voice. The girls category this year is going to be interesting, but also nerve wracking because my fave so far has been Lucy Spraggan, solely due to her originality. Interesting indeed.

Ok back to the original point.....acts that didn't wow me....

Now don't get angry ok, but I have to be honest. GMD? They just didn't do anything for me at all, they sounded ok, they looked ok, they were just OK. Maybe it was the song......or maybe it wasn't, I just don't know. I'll make my final judgement at boot camp.
MITSOTU, again, I thought they were ok, they were better than GMD, but they problem with these guys was the fact the clip was too short, I cant really comment. I think they seemed quite good. Same goes for Duke, I was sooooo interested in there audition, but just didn't have time to get into it, by the time I realised what was going on, they were finished. Both acts I'm looking forward to seeing Boot Camp.

The opposite story for District Line. 2 young girls with guitars, lovely voices, even the shortest of clips shows them in their true glory. I only needed 2 seconds to realise I wanted to hear more. they are defo my cup of tea. Liked em a lot.

Oooooo and then came MK1, not the shop, the band. At first glance I (quite harshly) thought, eh, what on earth is the kid in the glasses doing, let's be honest he didn't look right, however they seemed to give off a 'we're gonna be good' vibe, so I just went with it. But then he sang, oh dear, sorry Will, but there's a reason you are producer for the band. I totally agreed with Tulisa, I was getting angry at him for ruining the girls solo part. The audition as a whole was great, I loved the sound and style of them wrapping and singing, very talented. But Will just didn't fit in at all, bless him he looked gutted about it though. Respect him for standing down......not without 33% though haha, gotta keep it fair!
To be honest I don't think the dynamics or sound of the band will really change without him....

Last we seen Lorna, and a lot of her. Too much. FAR TOO MUCH. That is all I'm saying.

So next week is the last of the audition process, wowzers that's come around quick ain't it!!! My quote of the night..... Louis, when asked how old he is "Somewhere between 21 and dead" LEGEND!!!

I wasn't well last week so wasn't fully in the mood, but heard from others they weren't keen on last weekends show. However this weekend I refuse to hear bad words, my cheeks are aching from smiling and laughing. And I'll admit I did blub a little bit too. And I even indulged in a few exciting seal claps at the tv......don't pretend you didn't!
The only thing I was expecting was the craziness level increase in judges, of course I'm referring to Geri......crackers. Insanely crackers actually, slightly off putting at times, and right on cue I've gone off track....point proven. Anyway back to the groups, I would say most of them shown weren't really THAT good. Or at least they weren't on long enough to leave an imprint.

Ok ladies you can stop drooling now.....seriously you'll ruin your computers, STOP. Very talented group of lads, at first I was a bit thrown as to why it was a band, the guitarist/lead singer was holding his own VERY well, but then it kicked in and everything made sense. They clicked very well, very good group and I think they'll go far, or at least I hope they do.

The other 2 got through but I need a second song to make a full and informed decision as I wasn't overly keen tonight.

Firstly we saw the return of Melanie from last years X factor, she made it to judges houses, and to be honest I think half of her problem last year was due to too many big personalities in the girls category, and she was just a quiet shy young girl from Dublin. Well, evidentially not anymore. She came back to prove Kelly made a mistake giving her the boot, wow, what a fab performance, she sounded better, she looked better and she had so much more confidence. So refreshing. We'll be watching you Melanie :-)

As soon as Jason came on the screen and was declaring his love for 'Tulisha' I thought, MAAAAN!! I should've learned from a few weeks ago with Curtis, I need to stop judging people, naughty NAUGHTY!! Anyway, he came on stage, rose in hand, telling everyone how much he loved Tulisa, and basically just came across as a little quirky, I didn't have very high hopes for him but liked him. Then he sang and I was pleasantly surprised, what a nice little voice he has. If I'm completely honest, I think it was more the shock factor that wowed everyone, rather than his voice, although he was pretty good. I really enjoyed it, but don't think he's the best out of all the others in his category. Still liked him though. Well done Jason, and you got a kiss from Tulisa!

I missed it though and will defo be back this weekend. I know, I know, hold the tears, it was as hard for me as it was for you.....

Just a quick note, I thought that fairy woman, Melanie I think her name was, was fabulous. A bit nuts but cracking lungs on her. Although my favourite of the night was Matt, the one with the guitar, he had a lovely tone and perfect pronunciation, he didn't get much airtime which I hope doesn't mean he hasn't gone far.

Joseph however, he got a good slot, and rightly so. Hellish rocker voice, I'd love to hear him tackle some proper classics. Not sure he'd do so well in Britney week, however I'm sure even some of the cheesiest pop songs could do with a bit of rock in them!

Sorry it's short but sweet this week, I'd rather it be minimal than miss a week! Can't be having that!

PS, what was that cracker jack doing singing Lady Gaga.....her poor kids looked devastated!!! Her daughter looked on the verge of disowning her. well at least she got a hug off Gary! Lucky thing!!!!PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-6447531930384185252012-08-25T22:09:00.000+01:002012-09-16T23:01:27.461+01:00Did you see me??? Yes guys and girls, this week the auditions were held in NEWCASTLE!!! Not that we had much talent to brag about, but we certainly proved we have a few nutters! But hey, who didn't know that anyway.

Actually, the auditions started off in London tonight, I'm just getting carried away haha. And to be fair, London had quite a few good contestants to brag about, but hey, who thought they wouldn't LOL.

Lets get straight into the good stuff. What another FanBloodyTastic episode, dont you agree.....well it's tough if you don't coz I do and I'm the queen of this blog, so ner :-P

Ok, so who was memorable enough for me to write about... let me think, or maybe I'll just look at the notes I made, very professional you know!
Oh yes that's right, first up was a very preened Essex boy - Rylan Clark with a typical 'Totes Amaze' Essex personality. I have to admit something, before he even sang I was tweeting #ItsANoFromMe and if I'm honest I was still tweeting it after he sang. I must've been listening to something different to Tulisa Louis and Rita because I just wasn't enjoying it one bit. I wouldn't care, when he said he was singing 'Kissing you' I got very excited because I love it, but never mind, one day maybe. Also, just a heads up to Rita, generally the singing lessons come before the audition, not after!!

NEXT: Another act that didn't blow me away as much as the rest of the audience, Kye the chimney sweep. I genuinely thought he was really REALLY good, just not amazing. He had good vocals and his song writing/styling ability was pretty awesome. I agree he should have gone through, just wasn't up there with my favourites.

The last very decent artist in this segment was Lucy Spraggan from Sheffield, but i'm saving her for later *wink*

Ok so here's the part I thought I would be looking forward to....turns out I'm not. Newcastle. OH. MY. GOD. All I can say is that us Geordies are clearly too proud to showcase our true talents, so we send in the local nutters to take our place.....yea thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Nah all seriousness, I went to the auditions and we did have quite a few good acts, so I can only assume they'll be spread out in later shows or we'll see them on Xtra Factor.....at least I ruddy hope so!!

Basically if you missed it, Newcastle showed the world it's proper radgey side! Billy however was a TREAT! I genuinely liked him, not as an X Factor contestant obviously, just his whole stage presence and personality totally got me giggling, and he even admitted he was murdering his song. Legend.
Then there was Sophie, now then, Sophie was at the auditions I went to, and I can actually 100% vouch for her being absolutely insanely terrible, but what you didn't see was Tulisa actually expressing her concern for the fact her parents were encouraging her to do this. Totally agree. No wonder Nicole thought we were a TFZ (Talent Free Zone).

And then came James Arthur. Thank the LORD. Yes, that's right, NEWCASTLE HAVE TALENT! (ok he's a little South of Newcastle, but so what) Out he came with his guitar and hoody, and I had a feeling he was likely to be good as they were concentrating on his back story and it was close to finishing so I was hopeful. And I was right, he sang his own acoustic version of Tulisa's 'Young' and he done a fabulous job, really enjoyed it, very raw and deep. HOWEVER, I wasn't keen on his rapping. I think he would've done better just leaving that bit out. Overall though I thought he smashed it and I look forward to hearing more from him. Well done James, you brought the North East back to life tonight.

So then, I mentioned earlier that there was a singer from Sheffield called Lucy Spraggan, who may have been a little bit decent. Well theres a reason I saved her for last, because she was RUBBISH!!! HAHAHAHA As if. She was a total mind blower, totally my cup of tea. I just loved everything about her and I really hope she goes far, either in this competition or just in general, she really deserves it. Not only has she got an awesome, unusual sounding voice, but her song writing and guiter playing skills are just out of this world. She is extremely quirky and appears extremely down to earth. Definitely a one to look out for, and someone I think I'd back if she went to the live shows. Good Luck Lucy, hope I get to write more positive things about you in the future.

And that pretty much sums it up. Another great week, the talent is still piling in and and still only the 2nd week, I'm assuming there's lots more to come..... Oh X Factor, you really are spoiling us!!!!

Oh one last note - Download Little Mix 'Wings' tonight at midnight :-) gotta support my girlies, over and out xx

PerfectlyImperfecthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13348299136912598344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274588107712011938.post-37709442374998753492012-08-24T17:43:00.005+01:002012-09-16T23:01:27.452+01:00Auditions 2012Now in case you didn't know already, I managed to get myself a pair of tickets from Applause Store for the Newcastle X Factor Auditions back in June. I just thought I would write a little post about what went on and how everything works behind the scenes. It really was quite an eye opener.

I don't plan on giving away any spoilers here, just so you know. I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, I just want to give you an insiders account of what happens at the audition process.

One line to sum it: What you see on TV, is exactly how it is in the arena.

When you arrive at the arena, there's is a special kind of atmosphere, a buzz in the air, we had to queue up outside in the 'audience' section, but we could see all the interviews taking place around us, you know, the ones you see on TV with Dermot, or Caroline on Xtra Factor. We saw the caravan, and the cheer leaders, we even saw one contestent arrive on a big coach with loads of friends and family supporting them, which I'll be looking out for on the main show. We didn't get to see the judges arrive though, we left just before that, but one thing I should note is that luckily for us, it was the Newcastle auditions that Nicole started her official first day of judging, very honoured, I think she picked it because she knew I was going. Swiftly moving on....

Ours were priority tickets so had allocated seats, quite near the front (actually we were about 4 rows from the front, in line with the judges and just to the left of the legendary Mr Barlow himself - not bragging at all......ok just a little bit) so needless to say we had a cracking view of everything. Including the contestants waiting in the wings to come on, so we had a bit of an idea what to expect next (not being judgemental at all........ok just a little bit) Once the arena is full and before the judges come out, you are given a bit of a brief from a very VERY funny man, Ian Royce. He explains that we WILL be filmed, and we most likely will be on TV at some point, so not to pick our noses or fall asleep, things along those lines.
One thing he also points out is that they don't allow unacceptable behaviour towards any of the contestants, at the end of the day, whether we like them or not, they've had the guts to get up on that stage and sing in front of 1000's of people. Braver than me!

Enter the Judges: We've had our brief, so it's now officially TIME, TO FACE, THE MUSIC!!!

I can't actually describe how crazy the audience genuinely goes, nothing is staged, everyone (including myself) goes insane, screaming, trying to take pictures, like crazy fangirls! It was fabulous, and very exciting, seeing them approach the 4 famous chairs we see on our screens every weekend, quite surreal actually. Cue a few make up touches, then we are ready for action.

We seen quite a few varied contestants, but like I said earlier I'm not here to spoil it for anyone, you'll see the good, or even the not so good on the TV soon enough. I will however give you a few little snippets of information. Firstly the weirdest thing I found was the crowds reactions. It was so strange, I know from experience, sitting at home on a Saturday night in my PJ's, watching some nutter totally destroy a well known song while the audience are all up dancing and cheering them on, I'm like 'WHAT are they for real', why are they encouraging him, they must've been told to do that. It's so bizzarre because it's actually real reactions, we had 2 acts that came on, couldn't sing for toffee, but because they both picked quite popular up tempo songs, and they seemed really sweet and friendly in their pre-audition chat, you find yourself on your feet, singing along and dancing, and when they finish giving them a massive cheer, you even find yourself booing at the judges when they say 'no'. I really can't explain it. I should be ashamed.............but I'm not haha!

On the flip side of that though, a really good singer comes on, sings a really good song, and everyone is just sat there, enjoying it, not really reacting at all, just clapping when they finish. Which makes it look like we didn't enjoy it. It's just odd, I really can't understand why it happens like that. I guess it's because when a good singer chooses a slow song, you kind of just like to sit and listen to it. I dont know.

I had a few moments when I welled up actually, a young girl with quite a background came on and it's not all pre-scripted. The judges talk to the contestants for quite a while trying to relax them before they sing and Tulisa got into a deep conversation with this girl, I think it genuinely does help relax them, lifts the weight off them so they can loosen up. It worked for quite a few people, this was one of them. She didn't get through but only because you could tell she wasn't ready for the fame, she had a good voice but that's not the only thing that counts, she came across quite vulnerable. It was the right decision and she agreed afterwards.

Anyhoo, in between the contestants coming and going, you are entertained by the above mentioned Roycey, absolutely hilarious. He loves to get involved with the audience and the judges, and they seem to love it too. He brings people up to get photos and meet the judges, it really was a lovely thing to be part of. I can honestly say I'd love to do it again. You get to see so much that goes on, you find yourself forgetting it's a TV show and just allowing yourself to be a part of it all.

Oooo Ooo also we saw Caroline do one of her links for Xtra Factor right in front of us, and we saw her with Kian from Westlife watching the acts. It really is all exactly how they show it on TV, obviously there's a few tweaks here and there when the lighting isn't right or the sound is off and they have to re-shoot something. But it is a TV show at the end of the day.

A few people I would say to watch out for, not saying why though: Karen from Consett, Sophie from Hartlepool, Ray from Newton Aycliffe, Fiona from Jesmond, Davey from Darlington and Naruk (not sure on spelling) from Middlesborough. All memorable, whether good or bad.

So that's pretty much it really. After the contestants finish, the judges thanked us for coming and left, so did we.
Oooooooo I almost forgot, the most important thing of all, I managed to spy out someone, someone who is known for being unknown, someone who supplies us with insider information, yes you guessed it.... #XFactorInsider. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me!

I've attached a few likkle pictures for you to see, only from my phone so not the best quality in the world. Enjoy.
OH MY GOD itsssssss BACK....... My blog is back :-) ............oh yea and a little show called The X Factor, that's apparently back as well :-P

Of course The X Factor is back, I've only been bouncing around waiting for it since late December 2011!!! Jees take your time guys *sarcasm alert*
The universe is back on track now, my life is again complete woooooooop, and what a first show it was.

Ok so, how are you, where did you go for hols, how's the weather?....no.....not the time or place......oh, ok then. Guess I'll get back to business then, now weve established there'll be no small talk.
Before I get into my thoughts, I just want to bring you up to date, I was lucky enough to get tickets for one of the auditions in Newcastle so most of tonight was spent with me trying to spot me in the audience. I wasn't there.....bummer.
So back to the good stuff, what we all came here for (when I say all I mean me rereading this later *Hi Me*) how good was this explosive opening episode of the season? That's a rhetorical question so you don't actually need to answer it, the answer is obvious.......it was gobsmackingly amazing fantastically awesome, which is GAFA for short.... Hey I like that, I may reuse that in future, watch this space.
Considering this is the first week, we were very spoilt, none of this 'leave the best til last' malarkey.... Well if there was we are going to be VERY spoilt in the last week of auditions *shriek of excitement*
First up we'll discuss the not so amazing fabulous acts, starting with Louis, sorry, I mean Sheyi..... What was that, sounded like Louis Armstrong doing an impression of the cookie monster..... Very intensely weird! I'd happily never go to Nandos again if he promises never to do that in public ever again. Quote of the night, Tulisa: "you went from Camden boy to Cookie Monster in 5 Seconds"
Then we had the very angry Zoe Alexander, now come on, if you want to audition for a talent show and preach that you don't want to be compared to any one, you don't mention your a tribute act, have your hair and makeup the same as your act, and then sing their song. Unless I'm on the wrong page like but that just seems obvious to me. Regardless whether she was asked to sing a Pink song, her voice was very average, her second song was Emeli Sande, and again very average. You'll get nowhere with that attitude Zoe, not the prettiest picture to paint yourself on TV.

Now on to the FABULOUS. And weren't they just FAB-U-LOUS. First we had Jahmene Douglas, who if I'm honest I thought wasnt going to be that good. He seemed very edgy and nervous, but how wrong was I? I never thought anyone would top Johnny Robinson singing At Last, but again I was wrong, Jahmene literally blew me away, what a brilliant voice, first auditions sometimes have the wow factor so I just hope he is just as good if not better at boot camp as I really want to see him go far.
Oooo next we had another deceiving contestant, I need to learn to be less judgemental don't I?? Curtis Curtis Curtis, his pre audition interviews about being a geek and loving the spice girls just made me think eeeeeek he's going to be bad, I'm not doing very good at being right tonight really, because he was brilliant, I loved everything about him, his geeky look, his guitar, his voice and his personality. He nailed his version of Candyman, that's the kind of audition I love!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Lastly we were delightfully presented with the very young and talented Ella. I really don't know what to say about Ella to ensure I give her the credit she deserves, the words WOW and JEALOUS spring to mind. To think at 16 she is THAT talented, not just vocally but lyrically. WOW. This girl is going far in life. WOW.

Generally tonight's show has been up there with the best. Brilliant talent, fabulous judges and hilarious moments. Some of which came from Mel B, how brilliantly brutal and to the point is she? She's like a female Simon Cowell but maybe even more harsh, I loved it!!! We have much more to see and I just CAN'T WAIT!!!!
